Serving Boards

A serving board in cherry, inlaid in walnut. Worked and finished by hand from New England hardwood.

Long and lean. It carries a cheese course or a warm loaf to the table, and it earns its place on the counter in between.

Walnut inlay
The dark line of walnut set into the cherry. The same signature that runs through the boards, carried onto a piece made for the table.

Cherry
Firm and close-grained. The surface is smooth and dense, and it wears in rather than out.

Patina
Cherry darkens as it lives. Blonde now, amber within the year, richer every year after. The color it earns is its own.

New England wood
Grown in the Northeast. Cut, planed, and finished here in Maine.

Care
Hand wash, towel dry. Re-oil when the surface looks dry. Never soak. Never the dishwasher.
