Trivets

A trivet to set the hot pan on — a round of cherry, worked and finished by hand from New England hardwood.

The piece that finishes the set. It takes the heat off the table and looks like it belongs there.

Built for heat
Sized for a pot or a pan straight from the stove or the oven. Cork feet lift it off the counter, so heat and air pass underneath and the surface below stays protected. Give screaming-hot cast iron a moment to come off the boil first, and keep it off open flame.

Face grain
Cherry strips joined edge to edge and shown face up, so the full figure of the wood reads across the top.

Cork feet
Cork pads underneath. They grip the counter, lift the trivet, and take the scratch instead of your table.

New England wood
Grown in the Northeast. Cut, planed, and finished here in Maine.

Care
Hand wash, towel dry. Re-oil when the surface looks dry. Never soak. Never the dishwasher.
